June 12, 2015 - Scottish EDGE Talk 2015 - Euan Cameron Cohesion Medical

The enterpreneurial journey and winning the Scottish EDGE Award

At the Scottish EDGE Award Final in June 2015, Euan Cameron of Cohesion Medical was asked to talk about his entrepreneurial jounrey since winning the Scottish EDGE Award the year before.

Between talks from Sir Tom Hunter and James Watt, the co-founder of BrewDog, Euan was able to convey his own entrepreneurial experiences to the 400-strong audience at RBS Head Quarters at Gogarburn, Edinburgh.

Euan compared his experience of sponsoring the TIree Ultra-Marathon as his social payback for winning the Scottish EDGE Award with his similarly tough journey of progressing Cohesion Medical through its next 12 months. There were highs and there were lows but an endurance developed from participating in the EDGE helped him mentally and physically to keep going even during some dark days.

As Euan put it, "Sometimes you need more than financial rewads to keep you going, you need mental fortitude and that comes from knowing why you do something, and that something you keep as your core values. For me, it was a patient telling me that our health software solution was making her better. That matters to me and my team."

Cohesion Medical appreciates all the help it has received over the last 12 months and would encourage all start-up enterpreneurs to engage with the Scottish EDGE Award process - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, as Euan said in his talk.
